Hiroshima Plus Nagasaki
SEP 16, 2026
The Trump administration plans to give 40 kilotons of “conventional” bombs to Israel. Put differently, that’s 40,000 bombs, each with a ton of HE or high explosive. Naturally, it’s the American taxpayer who foots the bill as it’s labeled as aid to Israel.
Forty kilotons is a little more than the combined yield of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima (15 kilotons) and Nagasaki (21 kilotons) in 1945.
2000-pound bombs are not precision weapons. They flatten entire city blocks. Israel doesn’t need them for self-defense; it “needs” them to erase Gaza and its people from the map. (Or perhaps to attack Iran with in conjunction with U.S. forces. Or both.)
The other “Made in America” product that Israel orders in bulk is giant bulldozers. They’re in high demand to move the rubble around and entomb the bodies of the dead. A few of these bulldozers are now driverless or robodozers.
Mega-bombs and giant robodozers: all this death and destruction is explained away as “Israel’s right to exist.”
The world truly makes no sense anymore.

“An American-made Mark 84 has a destruction radius of half a mile. It releases a thermal wave the temperature of the surface of the sun. Within 100 feet of the explosion, rock melts and human flesh turns to vapor,” Carlson said. – From the Anti-War article.
“As commander-in-chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world.” – Kamala Harris, keynote address, DNC August 2024.
“… giant bulldozers. They’re in high demand to move the rubble around and entomb the bodies of the dead. A few of these bulldozers are now driverless or robodozers.” – W.J. Astore.
Thus we see the culmination of American education, science, politics, and economic product. Leader of the free world. Beacon of democracy. “Liberty and justice for all.” “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
I wish Substack would allow insertions of graphics. A New Yorker cartoon would be very fitting. It depicts the familiar prophet in sackcloth and sandals walking in public but instead of the usual “The End Is Near” written on the sign he’s carrying is “This Time For Certain.”
“The world truly makes no sense anymore.” You can say that again.
“The world truly makes no sense anymore.”
